“Intentional living is any lifestyle based on an individual or group’s conscious attempts to live according to their values and beliefs.”
Just recently, I noticed that I have been a pretty negative person, so to try and change that I am going to work on a positive mindset by living intentionally.
I am somebody who just loves stuff, pretty things with absolutely no use. Even though I know I’ll never be able to adapt to the minimalist lifestyle, I can become more aware of what I am buying. I thought I would share with you all how I am working on intentional living.
I’m trying to live by the ‘spend money on experiences, not things’ phrase. Do you ever think back to the time where you bought your favourite candle because you bought it, or because of where you were, the journey there, and who you were with? In short, live your life well, don’t buy things just because you want them.
I have so many notebooks, going back to previous points of this post, I buy pretty notebooks even if I don’t have a use for them. I chose one and decided to write down one thing I am grateful for every single day. Sometimes it’s as little as ‘I enjoyed my coffee today’. Finding things you are grateful for can help you become more empathetic (I don’t really need help on this one) and just make you a happier person. Who doesn’t want to be a happier person!?
Step Away From The Screen.
Everything nowadays involves a screen, clocking in at work, texting, watching TV, reading this post, I don’t even get physical paychecks for work, they’re on a mobile phone app, it’s crazy, something I am working on is reducing screen time. Finding a hobby that isn’t technological, at the moment I have discovered the most common, reading, but I hope to find others in the future. If you have any idea, please let me know in the comments.
Here’s to living intentionally!
